Eminent senior artist, Thota Vaikuntam was the Chief Guest at the valedictory of the four-day art camp by artists and students, ‘Punarkriti’, hosted by Hyderabad Arts and Culture Foundation; Pegasus Art Gallery and Mahila Dakshata Samithi, on Tuesday at Suman Junior College, Chandanagar.

Mahila Dakshata Samiti, a non-Government, non-political, non-sectarian national body focussed on woman and child welfare, working towards uplifting of the underprivileged girl students for nearly four decades; has hosted the initiative. It brought together celeb artists and underprivileged girl student artists from Mahila Dakshata Samiti through the platform - ‘Punarkriti’.

Dr Saroj Bajaj says, “The students immensely benefited by learning about the intricacies of art, which also aided them to fine tune their artistic skills, while it was an opportunity for the artists to know first-hand the hardship and poverty the students experience and the background they hail from.” “Some of art works the student artists put on display were an outpouring of the struggles they overcame with determination to accomplish something in their lives,” she adds.

The works of artists, Agnes- D’ Cruz, Rajesh, Akshay Anand Singh B, Ahobilam Prabhaker, Ashima, Bala Bhakta Raju, Chandana Khan, Chinni Sripathi, Debabrata Biswas, Jeevan Gosika, Jaya Behati, Madhu Kuruva, Rajiv Sur Roy, Srinivas Reddy B, Shravan Kumar GK, Srikanth Babu Adepu, Tailor Srinivas, Vijay Belde, U Vijay Kumar and other 15 talented students of Mahila Dakshata Samithi, were on display at the art camp.
