Princy, the TV actress, who impressed the audience in the daily soap ‘Kumkuma Puvvu’ is grabbing attention with yet another television series ‘Prema’. The actress, who hails from ‘Gods Own Country’ Kerala, is in Hyderabad from three years. In a freewheeling chat, the shy lass talks about her stint in acting.

About her shift to Telugu TV industry she says, “Apart from the language both the industries are the same. We are actors and we need to perform in which ever field we choose to be in. I have worked in television soaps like ‘Ondhurnalli Raja Rani’ (Zee Kannada), ‘Kaveri’ (Udaya TV), ‘Belli Kalungura’ (Kasturi TV) and right now I am doing ‘KumkumaPuvvu’ and ‘Prema’ in the Telugu television industry.”

“I am not a Telugu girl, but the Telugu people have accepted me, and I am proud to say that I am a Telugu actress. Learning and getting a grip on the Telugu language was quite a task for me. I did not know the language and never understood what people used to say. As I speak Tamil and people who knew Tamil on the sets would explain me the scenes in Tamil. After two-and-a-half months I started to speak Telugu fluently,” she beams.

The ‘Kumkuma Puvvu’ actress said that during her free time she watches Telugu movies to get a grip over the language. Princy informs that she chose acting as a profession as her mother likes acting. “I was never interested in acting, however, my mother urged me to join this field and I heed her advice and joined this field. My mother and father are my biggest inspirations.”

The actress said that she would love to venture into the digital world. “I would love to work in a web series if given a chance, but I do not have many contacts here in the Telugu industry, so I am waiting for an opportunity.”

About working in movies, she says, “I am not interested in working in the film industry because I, as a girl, feel that it is not a safer place to work. I don’t feel comfortable shooting in outdoor locations. And I feel that the TV industry is safer than the film industry.”
