AU launches new course for Afghan students. Speaking on the occasion, Professor E N Dhanamjaya Rao, Director, International Affairs, Andhra University, said that the Afghan students would be the first contingent of foreign students for the academic year 2014-15 for the B Tech courses in Andhra University.

Twenty One students from Afghanistan, sponsored by the Afghan Ministry of Higher Education, joined Andhra University B Tech in Electrical Engineering for the academic year 2014-15. These new students would be given nine month new foundation course to enable them to equip themselves with the skills in English language, Science, Computers, mathematics and culture of India.
Professor E A Narayana, Rector and Professor K Ramamohana Rao, Registrar inaugurated the foundation course in Samatha College in Vishakhapatnam on Thursday. They congratulated the office of the International Affairs Director for taking up innovative programmes to help the foreign students in their pursuit of knowledge.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor E N Dhanamjaya Rao, Director, International Affairs, Andhra University, said that the Afghan students would be the first contingent of foreign students for the academic year 2014-15 for the B Tech courses in Andhra University.
Rao said that with foundation course, students will understand the local customs and culture and adapt themselves to the local environment and know the fundamentals of these subjects so that they can start their B Tech course with ease
Dr Vijaya Ravindra, Principal of the Samatha College and Dr Muralikrishna, Director, participated in the programme.
