Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad to host Megathon
Participants who will be attending this 24-hr hackathon will create a team and work on one of the themes for the Megathon, like smart cities, innovation in education, bots and customer utilities. The ideas that they come up with can also be based on real-life problems, social issues or any other aspects relevant to the themes for Megathon.
​Hyderabad: E-Cell, IIIT Hyderabad and E-Cell, IIT-Hyderabad are jointly hosting ‘Megathon’ – a 24-hour Hackathon, which will be held at the International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIIT Hyderabad) campus. This event is especially for all aspiring student entrepreneurs in Hyderabad.
Participants who will be attending this 24-hr hackathon will create a team and work on one of the themes for the Megathon, like smart cities, innovation in education, bots and customer utilities. The ideas that they come up with can also be based on real-life problems, social issues or any other aspects relevant to the themes for Megathon.
Each team will be assigned a mentor who will guide them through the whole process. The teams will be given one minute for the initial pitch, post which mentors will be assigned to each team on the basis of their pitch. Post this, the teams will work on their ideas and prepare a business-model canvas along with a prototype during the event.
Once completed, the teams will then pitch their final idea to the investor along with the overall working model and prototypes. The winners will be chosen by the investors on the basis of their presentations and the best ideas might also fetch some seed investment. Some of the key investors present at the hackathon will be Hyderabad Angels, 50k Ventures & Anthill Ventures.
The event will witness speakers who will be addressing the audience on start-ups, entrepreneurship & benefits of business. Eminent speakers who will present at the event are Ramesh Loganathan, VP Products & Center Head, Progress Software - Hyderabad Labs; Nitin Padmawar, Co-Founder Director & CTO at Reasoning (Martjack) & Mr. Suresh Challa, President, TiE Hyderabad.
