University of Hyderabad

The Mahaparinirvan Diwas (death anniversary) of Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar (BR Ambedkar), the principal architect of the Indian Constitution was observed on Wednesday at the University of Hyderabad (UoH).

Prof. B P Sanjay PVC and in-charge Vice Chancellor, Prof. P Prakash Babu, PVC, Shri P Sardar Singh, Registrar, senior officials, faculty and staff members assembled at the administration building in paying floral tributes to the Bharat Ratna awardee and observing a minute’s silence on his Mahaparinirvan Diwas.

A great social reformer, Dr. Ambedkar was born on April 14, 1891 at Mhow in Madhya Pradesh. He dedicated his entire life for the uplifting of the deprived sections of society. Often called Babasaheb, he is known for his fights against social discrimination of Dalits, women and labourers.
