The College for Practicing Managers since 1956, Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), celebrated its 61st Foundation Day at a glittering ceremony in its sprawling green Bella Vista Campus on Raj Bhavan Road in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

Hyderabad: The College for Practicing Managers since 1956, Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), celebrated its 61st Foundation Day at a glittering ceremony in its sprawling green Bella Vista Campus on Raj Bhavan Road in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

Addressing the gathering, ASCI Chairman and former Union Home Secretary K Padmanabhaiah said that the institute, mother of all IIMs, has been committed for national building since its inception.

He said ASCI stands for 'Autonomy', 'Service', 'Commitment' and 'Innovation.'
"The not-for-profit organisation, ASCI is enjoying autonomy in all its activities. We are committed to superior quality of training and research development. As we are competing with other management institutes, we ensure innovation in all our operations," the 1961 batch IAS officer said.

Ashwani Lohani, Chairman, Railway Board, gave lecture on "Governance and Management in Government Organisations." The Director General RH Khwaja elaborated the rich culture of the great institution housed in Nizam’s son Prince of Berar's palace, Bella Vista.

A good number of serving civil servants, retired bureaucrats, former employees, faculty members and serving employees attended the celebrations along with their family members.
ASCI CoG member Richard B Saldanhana, former Principal of ASCI TL Shankar, ASCI Registrar Kalyan K Roy and top officials of Railways were among the host of dignitaries who graced the celebrations.
