Hyderabad: With the aim of bringing private engineering entrance exams onto one platform, ComedK (consortium of medical, engineering and dental colleges of Karnataka) and Uni-GAUGE, the second largest multi-university private engineering exam in the country, has started its operations three years ago.

More than 150 institutions and 25 universities are accepting scores of the online exam, said P Muralidhar CEO of Karnataka-based ERA foundation. As of now 1.25 lakh students are giving an online exam. With a reach of 140 cities and 400 test centres, it has grown in strength over the last three years. “The vision for 2020 is to be the single credible, neutral, common entrance test exam for at least 100 private universities and 300 colleges in India, offering at least 50,000 engineering seats, thereby minimising the number of tests for students” said Muralidhar.

He expressed happiness that most of Telugu students are willing to take the exam. Muralidhar said 12,000 candidates appeared for the exam in 2017. The entrance exam will be held on May 13 as combined examination for admission to BE/BTech courses. The exam will be conducted online in over 150 cities and at 375 test centres Applications should be submitted online through www.unigauge.com by April 19.
