Hyderabad: Children are future of the world, save them and save every drop of blood, said young students of Green Meadows Park School, here on Friday.

In a first, young students aged between 8 and 11 years, addressing the press conference at Media plus Auditorium appealed for saving humanity by preventing bloodshed of children around the world, particularly of oppressed Syrian children.

They said, “The bloodshed of children from other countries we have seen through media is very disturbing. It is our misery that we cannot help these children, but we can at least send out a message that every drop of blood is important.” “A blood donation camp is being organised on Sunday at school campus in Mehdipatnam. “Through the camp we are giving the message to world to stop killing children, and stop spilling blood,” said the children.

“The blood collected from donors will be provided to the Thalassemia affected children at various treatment centers in Hyderabad”, said the children. They requested the parents, relatives and general public to participate by donating blood. “Nearly 5.3 million children need our help. They have the right to study and the right to live happily”, and expressed hope that “children who are oppressed in different countries will someday wake up to the sound of chirping birds and not to the sound of bombs and gunshots.”

Shakir Hussian, a student of class V said, ‘blood stands for beautiful life only on donating’ while class VIII student Tajammul Hussain said “people of all faiths are welcome to donate blood.” Another student added that “one need not be a doctor to save lives; lives can also be saved by donating blood.” “Let’s help the dying kids in our land for the sake of dying kids in Syria, “said grade VII student Soha.

If good habits like service to humanity are taught to students at a very young age, such morals will become an indispensable part of their character, and they will continue to value every drop of blood, regardless of religion. AK Khan, Advisor to Minority Affairs, Telangana, will grace the blood camp as chief guest while school director Mohsin Bin Mohammed Al Hamoomi will participate.
