As many as 3200 students of GITAM Deemed University here, from different branches, received placement orders from reputed organizations, at a function organised by the university in the name of “Achievers day” here on Monday.
As many as 3200 students of GITAM Deemed University here, from different branches, received placement orders from reputed organizations, at a function organised by the university in the name of “Achievers day” here on Monday.
GITAM Chancellor Prof.K. Ramakrishna Rao handed over the placement orders and appreciation letters to the selected students of Engineering, Pharmacy, Science, Management and International Business. He appreciated the students for their achievement and suggested that they must update even after joining in organizations.
While addressing the students GITAM Vice-Chancellor Prof.MS Prasada Rao announced that world reputed companies like Microsoft, IBM, TCS, Accenture, Amazan, Deloitte, Service Now, Aditya Birla, Genpact, Virtusa, FIAT, Tutures First, Maruthi Suzuki, Cyient, Mahindra & Mahindra, Coromandal, Oracle were among the companies that conducted the campus interviews.
He mentioned that highest pay package offered by Service Now to two engineering students (Rs.12.45 per annum), Microsoft to three students (Rs.10 lacs per annum), Future First (Rs.9.2 lacs per anum), Think and Learn (Rs.9 lacs per anum), Amazon recruited 4 MBA students with Rs.12.10 lac pay package. He also informed that majority of students recruited in TCS, Accenture, IBM, Amazon, Genpact, NTT Data and Sutherland. The university Vice-Chancellor observed that this was a unique feat achieved by any university both in Telugu states.
Microsoft WISE
The University Vice-Chancellor informed that in addition to campus recruitments number of reputed firms offering Internship to III Year students particularly Microsoft has introduced WISE (Women In Software Engineering) for the girl students& Internship program for boys. Remote Internship by TCS is another innovative scheme implemented successfully for Final Year students, he added.
GITAM Vice-President Prof. M.Gangadhara Rao appreciated the achievers and suggested that to utilize the government start-up policy to grow as entrepreneur. GITAM Registrar Prof.M.Potharaju, Principals from GITAM Constituent Institutes Prof.K.Lakshmiprasad, Prof.P.Sheela, Prof.S.Ganapathi, Prof.Venkateswarlu, Prof.Mohan, Prof.Rajagopal, Training & Placement Director Commander Gurumoorthy Gangadharan participated in the event and appreciated the students achievement.
