Hyderabad: Red Bull Spotlight, a new nation-wide programme to identify and support top talent across various fields qualifiers was held in Hyderabad at BITS Pilani Campus. Sward Band from Hyderabad has qualified and will compete in national finals 2018.

  • A national winner will get the chance to record a full album in a professional studio and the opportunity to learn about the live music industry from some of the best in the business.
  • Winners from each of the 11 participating cities will also be given studio time to record a single in a professional studio.

Red Bull Spotlight, kicked off with a band hunt in February and held in 11 cities across the country – Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Goa, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Chandigarh, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, and Guwahati – the band hunt is a search for the best college bands in India. Beginning in Chennai on February 16 at Madras Christian College, it proceeded to Guwahati and Goa.

One national winner will be given the opportunity to record a full-length album at a professional studio, plus other benefits including a full press kit – complete with a photo shoot and album art for their newly recorded album.

Winning bands from each of the 11 cities will be also given studio time to record one song in a professional studio. The national winner will also get the chance to participate in an intimate Q and A session with industry experts, including artists, artist managers and booking agents, venue managers and more, giving them an in-depth look into the functioning of the live music industry in India.
