Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), the College for practicing managers since 1956, takes care of the educational needs of its employees\' children. Continuing the rich tradition that was launched in 1983 to encourage the wards of employees with Educational Cash Incentive Awards, ASCI conducted a glittering function in its Bella Vista campus on Sunday.

Continuing the rich tradition that was launched in 1983 to encourage the wards of employees with Educational Cash Incentive Awards, ASCI conducted a glittering function in its Bella Vista campus on Sunday.

The Chief Guest of the programme, ASCI chairman, K.Padmanabhaiah, former Union Home Secretary, stressed the need of imparting quality education to ensure development of the nation. He suggested parents to try to find out the real interest among their wards. "Who knows your kid may be interested in sports and she may become another Sania Mirza of PV Sindhu or he may become Dr APJ Adbdul Kalam.

Let them grow in the area of their interest," he maintained. He announced his decision to sponsor a gold medal on his personal behalf for the best student among the employees' children from the next academic year onward.

ASCI chairman's better-half K.Satyawathi, the Dean of Training Programmes (DoTP) Prof.Valli Manickam and the Dean of Research Studies Prof.Nirmalya Bagchi, also gave away cash prizes to the meritorious students.

ASCI Employees Union president Sreeramulu and Secretary Md.Hasan hailed the management for its commitment towards the uplift the employees' families. The secretary of Children's Educational Incentive Scheme, B.Renuprakash said that 96 children from LKG to M. Tech were given cash incentives. A magic show by Ali enthralled children, parents and their guests, who later joined in community feast.
