Now you can intern with your icons
Interacting with the finest in their respective fields will be the incentive for students participating in the Internship and training platform, Internshala, whose third edition ‘Intern with Icon’ (IwI) has been aptly themed \'For the icons of tomorrow\'. Hyderabad: Interacting with the finest in their respective fields will be the incentive for students participating in the Internship and training platform, Internshala, whose third edition ‘Intern with Icon’ (IwI) has been aptly themed 'For the icons of tomorrow'.
This summer, the occasion will be graced by 15 men and women of eminence including, Chairman of AICTE Dr Anil Sahasrabudhe, singer Sona Mohapatra;
master shooter Abhinav Bindra, actor-social activist Rahul Bose, Union Minister Jayant Sinha, experimental physicist Prof HC Verma, co-founder of ScoopWhoop, Sattvik Mishra, Golden Girl PT Usha, fashion designer Neeta Lulla, pop-rock singer Kailash Kher, costume designer Anju Modi, F1 driver Narain Karthikeyan, founder of OYO Rooms Ritesh Agarwal, Director of IIM Bangalore G Raghuram and global Vice-President of Xiaomi Manu Jain.
According to a release from the organisers, the leaders intend to give something back to the society and help motivate career aspirations of the younger generation.
In the earlier editions, students applied for internship opportunities with Nandita Das, Rahul Ram, BhaichungBhutia, ShaheenMistri, Amitabh Kant and Gul Panag.
This year Intern with Icon 3.0 is offering internships in video-editing, research, graphic design and social media marketing and management.
Last year, AICTE mandated three internships for students in colleges enrolled under its purview and signed an MoU with Internshala to facilitate internships. IIT Madras alumnus Sarvesh Agrawal, founder-CEO of Internshala, said, "Since 2010, Internshala is on a mission to build a culture of meaningful internships and Intern with Icon is a step towards that. We have been steadfast in creating unique opportunities which would add immense value to the lives of the youth.
Through this initiative, we hope to encourage the youth to follow their passion and help them learn directly from their role models. There is no dearth of talent in India, and we realised that if students can get mentorship from these icons, it would equip them with industry knowledge and soft skills. "
On Internshala, a student can search and apply for an internship of her choice as well as get trained on skills needed to get an internship. Over 2.5 Mn students and 80,000 organisations are registered on Internshala and both can use the platform for free for internships.
