Azim Premji University announces admissions to its M.Ed. Programme (Master of Education) 2018-20. The NCTE approved M.Ed. programme aims to develop teacher educators with sound disciplinary knowledge along with critical perspectives on education and capable of analysis, reflection and meaningful action. 

Hyderabad: Azim Premji University announces admissions to its M.Ed. Programme (Master of Education) 2018-20. The NCTE approved M.Ed. programme aims to develop teacher educators with sound disciplinary knowledge along with critical perspectives on education and capable of analysis, reflection and meaningful action.

This will be a full time programme based at Bangalore. The programme consists of core courses, electives (disciplinary areas and advanced educational studies), workshop courses and a compulsory dissertation. The disciplinary focus will be science and mathematics education. Students will have field engagement in all the semesters.

They will be equipped to become capable Teacher Educators who can also work as Curriculum specialists, Policy makers, Administrators, Researchers”

The eligibility criteria for the M. Ed. Programme (as per the NCTE norms) are as below
a) Undergraduate degree in Sciences/ Mathematics/Engineering with at least 50% marks or equivalent.
b) Teacher education degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent in any one of the following
-B.Ed., B.Sc.B.Ed., B.El.Ed. (with optional Mathematics / Science),
-D.El.Ed. with an Undergraduate Degree (with 50% marks in each).

Relevant school teaching experience and/or a Master’s degree in Science/Mathematics will be an added advantage Admission process and dates: Students can apply online on the University website. Applicants will be selected based on a written test and personal interview for shortlisted candidates. Applications for admissions close on May 15, 2018, followed by an entrance test on May 27, 2018 and interviews thereafter. The academic session starts in July 2018.
