Hyderabad: SR Engineering College, Warangal announced that it would be lending its infrastructure and faculty for ‘AI and deep learning skilling and research’ along with The Royal Academy of Engineering, UK under the Newton Bhabha Fund. It is also inviting zonal partnerships to expand this vision.
Making the announcement A Madhukar Reddy, Secretary of SR Engineering College said “Industry all over the world is facing huge scarcity of trained manpower in machine intelligence. There is a huge talent gap for companies working in the autonomous vehicular industry, advanced data science, Image processing, video analytics.
Our role is to help build the talent pool that will own the whole spectrum of applications important for the industry leading to new innovations and ideas in the area of AI and deep learning.”
Royal Academy of Engineering, UK; NVIDIA, Amazon, University College London and Brunel University have come together in this noble initiative named “Making Deep Learning and AI skills mainstream in India” to fulfill trilateral needs of Entrepreneurship, Industry-academia partnership, and application-inspired Engineering Research.
We are excited to be part of this project that has the potential to change the landscape of AI Research in India, Madhukar added. Due to the Interdisciplinary nature of applications in this domain, we believe the impact will percolate to all the departments of the institutions. The outcome of the project will be tangible in terms of its impact onEngineering community and the general public. Super-computing infrastructure, Strong faculty profile and liberal institution support from Bennett University will fulfill the stated objectives of the project. He added.
SR Engineering College (SREC) is a Collaborator for this initiative in Telangana State. SREC will support this initiative in terms of infrastructure and faculty. The faculty of SREC is actively working in the field of AI and Deep Learning. The Institution will render all possible support to fulfill the objectives of the project.
SREC contribution towards this initiative will be to make cutting-edge skills and supercomputing infrastructure available to the wider community of academicians and researchers as well as initiate, sustain and nourish research groups in Artificial Intelligence and become good research center.
Further, the college will motivate the learner community for exploiting the potential of start-ups and innovations in this area and connecting them with the real-life problems of that industry is trying to solve. The main objective is to enhance the content, quality, capacity, and collaboration of Engineering education ecosystem.
This nation-wide Project has inbuilt ingredients for engaging wider engineering community including people from professional Organizations, Industry and Consultant Networks. There is an immediate need to expand the number of people who can innovate and sustain the ongoing revolution in Artificial Intelligence Applications.
This SREC believes can be achieved if there are institutions like them who are willing to adopt the new skills into their ecosystem and produce more trained professionals for nation talent building process.
