In this year’s Civil Service results a former VIT student, Amol Srivastava, secured 83rd rank in the country.

Srivatsava of Noida, who is son of retired senior accountant Rajesh Kumar and housewife Savita, is a graduate in mechanical engineering from VIT. He attributes his success to the quality teaching in VIT‘which moulded my personality’.

He said during the early days in VIT were spent in research and exploration.‘I took part in many events, including the debating club. Through this club I could mould my personality. It also gave rise to the thought that I should appear for the Civil Services exams. This enthused me and gave confidence that what I could achieve in college could be replicated in my future life.

‘I also participated in the programmes conducted by The Hindu Plus in 2012, which helped me. It helped me gain confidence and become an expert in securing information. I learnt about the country. The Hindu Plus became a forum for me to prepare for the CiviIServices exams.

Soon after completing the VIT course, he was selected as a trainee scientist in New Sigma Business Solutions. He worked there for one year and began preparations for the Civil Services exams. Srivastava is to go for training in August this year after securing 83rd rank at all-India level.
