Cambridge International announced the results of its March 2018 exam series in India for Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge International AS & A Level qualifications on Friday. With more than 38,000 entries, the March 2018 series witnessed a growth of 13 percent over last year.

Hyderabad: Cambridge International announced the results of its March 2018 exam series in India for Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge International AS & A Level qualifications on Friday. With more than 38,000 entries, the March 2018 series witnessed a growth of 13 percent over last year.
Entries for Cambridge IGCSE grew by 12 per centon March 2017, with more than 30,000 entries. Entries for Cambridge International AS & A Level increased by 16 per cent on last year with more than 8,000 entries.
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) subjects continue to remain popular among Indian students. The most popular subjects at Cambridge IGCSE were Mathematics (without coursework), First Language English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. At Cambridge International AS & A Level, the subjects with the highest number of entries were Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry and Business.
Global Perspectives and Computer Science saw the highest growth in entries at Cambridge IGCSE – up 79 percent and 52 percent respectively on last year. At Cambridge International AS & A Level, Information Technology and Accounting saw the highest growth –entries increased by 153 percent and 24 percent respectively from March 2016.
Speaking on the occasion Ruchira Ghosh, Regional Director, South Asia, Cambridge International said, “We have continued to receive an overwhelming response to our March exam series since its introduction in India in 2015. We hold exams in March specifically to enable students to get their results in time to meet university deadlines in India,
and are adding more subjects to the March series every year. It feels particularly great to see the popularity of a cross-curricular subject like Global Perspectives that nurtures critical thinking, research and collaboration skills through the study of global issues. I take this opportunity to congratulate all the students getting their results today, and thank the teachers and parents for their relentless support.”
Based on feedback from schools, parents and students, Cambridge International added three more subject options to the March 2018 exam series: Cambridge IGCSE Art & Design and Cambridge International AS & A Levels in Psychology and Global Perspectives & Research. More subjects will be added in 2019 in response to demand from schools. Students in India can also choose to take Cambridge exams in June and November.
The Cambridge Pathwaycurriculum offers flexibility and choice for learners and schools with over 70 subject choices at Cambridge IGCSE and over 55 subject choices at Cambridge International AS & A Level. Currently, there are over 420 schools in India offering Cambridge programmes and qualifications.
