OU to offer one year PG diploma course in Medical Biotechnology
Close on the heels of being granted huge funds under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), the Osmania University, is one among the three Universities chosen by the Department of Science & Technology, (DST) Ministry of Science & Technology to run a one year PG Diploma programme in Medical Biotechnology on Genetic Counselling to be executed by the Institute of Genetics & Hospital.
Hyderabad : Close on the heels of being granted huge funds under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), the Osmania University, is one among the three Universities chosen by the Department of Science & Technology, (DST) Ministry of Science & Technology to run a one year PG Diploma programme in Medical Biotechnology on Genetic Counselling to be executed by the Institute of Genetics & Hospital for Genetic diseases, Osmania University.
The program, under “Skill Development scheme” would place special emphasis on prenatal and postnatal Diagnostics. The cost of the program is Rs 92.44 lakh for three years. The Director, Institute of Genetics & Hospital for Genetic Diseases, will be the full-time course coordinator.
Selection of students will be made through a combined common entrance test for skill development in Biotechnology at the national level conducted by all participating Universities/Institutes. The intake in each academic session will be 10 students per year. Each student will be paid a monthly stipend of Rs 10,000.
