Hyderabad: The United States Embassy and Consulate in Hyderabad opened doors to Indian students, who applied for visas to pursue higher education in the US. The US Embassy organised student visa day on Wednesday in order to boost higher education ties between India and the United States.

Consular Section Chief Donald Mulligan said the student visa day is particularly for students and this year we have nearly 570 appointments.

He said getting a US visa is very easy and it does not depend upon the mood of the correspondent interacting with the students but it depends on the student’s credibility.

When asked about the Indians being targeted in US, Donald said the Indian nationals in US are not been targeted and that there is police on every campus to take care of the students.

Brain Salverson Chief of non-immigrant visas said that one rejection of visa does not mean that it is a life time ban. He said the student visa is issued on three checks such as students’ passion to study in United States, financial background and intents.
