Kannada people and the fragrance of Kannada language have spread throughout the world. Wherever we go, we find at least one Kannada person. Some people who were born and bred in Karnataka have gone to other countries and made names which are recognised by the world. Anuradha Doddaballapur is one such person.

Anuradha, who was born and brought up in namma Bangalore, is now the captain of German women's cricket team. She has created a record by capturing 4 wickets in a single over! Anuradha, who is a scientist by profession has been playing for German women cricket team since 2013. Currently, she is also serving as a covid warrior.

Anuradha has played some matches for Karnataka too and has shared about her professional life with the media. "I was born and brought up in Basavanagudi in Bangalore. I had a passion for cricket from my younger days. I used to play gully cricket with my friends. I joined the cricket academy when I was in the seventh standard.

I was practising cricket at National College grounds during my college days. When I went to England for further studies, I represented the college team. After working there for two years, I got an opportunity to play for county cricket. When I went to Germany for higher studies I got the chance to play in the National team. When I went to Germany to do my PHD, the selection was going on to represent the country.

I got myself registered online. Later, they trained me and after watching my performance they selected me for the National team. Hence I stepped into the National team in the year 2013 and I have been leading the team from the year 2017. Earlier, to get selected for the National team, one had to stay in Germany for 18 months. Now, they have changed the rules and made it 3 years. We do not have professional cricket here and we don't get any remuneration for playing. Hence we cannot rely on cricket entirely and live here. I, being a scientist by profession, have to keep studying," signs off Anuradha.
