#ShameonICC: Fans blast ICC after the India vs New Zealand washout
Organising the ongoing World Cup hasn't been as easy task for the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Organising the ongoing World Cup hasn't been as easy task for the International Cricket Council (ICC). Being hosted by England, the quadrennial tournament has been constantly interrupted by rains, causingseveral games to be abandoned. While the game between South Africa and West Indies was called off after a few overs of cricket, the matches between Bangladesh-Sri Lanka, and Pakistan-Sri Lanka, went down the drain without a single ball being bowled.
Things turned worse when the much-anticipated clash between India and New Zealand, on Thursday, ended up being yet another washout. Shattering a million hopes to witness a top of the table clash, the weather gods played the spoilsport in Nottingham to pour cold water on the fans' expectations.
Furthermore, the washouts have also led to the splitting of points, which might end up in affecting a team's chances in the run up to a spot in the semi-finals, should the equation get tight.
Clearly unhappy with the developments, numerous fans took to Twitter to unleash their wrath. From slamming ICC for conducting the tournament in England to questioning the decision to not have alternate venues, the game's followers vented frustration after the washout on Thursday.
While the tweets until a few days ago were predominantly humorous, Thursday witnessed the fans bash the council with a barrage of furious messages. Using the hashtag #ShameonICC, the fans minced no words while expressing their thoughts.
Here are a few tweets:
#ShameOnICC Fans have been left frustrated as rain delays and washouts are slowly starting to dominate the narrative around the World Cup.ICC should feel ashamed as Eden Gardens has facility of full covering during a rain threat in Kolkata Why not London? 4 matches already lost.

Matches in such big event getting washed off regularly, such is the level of planning and preparedness by @ICC after 4 years they do for WC.
