The BCCI's new President-elect Sourav Ganguly is seen as one of the greatest captains of India. Among his many game-changing moves as the skipper, the man from Bengal is remembered for unearthing numerous young talents in Indian cricket. It was during his captaincy that several cricketers, including the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Mohammad Kaif, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra and Harbhajan Singh, grew to become stars of the team.

And wishing Ganguly on his new assignment of leading the cricket board in India was one of his close associates, Harbhajan Singh. The off-spinner took to Twitter to wish his former captain with a special message. "You are a leader who empowers to be a leader. Congratulations for becoming BCCI President. I wish you all the best going forward," Singh tweeted on Wednesday.

Responding to the tweet, Ganguly replied, "Thank you bhajju. Need your support in the same manner as you bowled from one end for India to win matches."

It may be fondly recollected that it was the fabulous captain-bowler partnership between Sourav Ganguly and Harbhajan Singh that had played a key role in defeating a dominant Australian side in the home series of 2001.

Ganguly is all set to assume charge as the head of the BCCI from 23 October. The 47-year-old, who filed his nomination on Monday, is expected to lead the board from the front and leave his mark in administration as well.
