Team India will be seen sporting a new orange coloured jersey during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 for their 'away matches'.

ICC's new rule brought in the change in the Jersey colour. The rule states all participating teams should provide two different coloured kits for televised ICC events, except for the host country. The host country will have their own preference in the choice of colour.

The announcement comes in only few days before the much-awaited tournament begins on May 30.

The concept of 'home' and 'away' jerseys is quite common in football. For each match, this time the ICC has granted one team the home status, while for the other team the match will be treated as the away venue.

'For televised ICC events all participating teams will be required to provide for two different coloured kits, except for the host country who has preference in the choice of colour and may, if it chooses to do so, provide only one coloured kit to be worn in all matches throughout the event. In advance of the event the teams will be notified which coloured kit will be worn in each match," ICC said in a statement.

According to media reports, the Indian team is thinking of preparing an away kit, with orange as the prominent colour when they play matches against England, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan as the countries have blue in their home jersey as well.

England (hosts), Australia and New Zealand are the only sides who don't need an away kit because of their jersey colours are unique.
