The Hyderabad edition of Red Bull Shuttle Up- first ever exclusive women’s doubles tournament took place on Saturday at Game Point, Siddhi Vinayak Nagar, Hyderabad.
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad edition of Red Bull Shuttle Up- first ever exclusive women's doubles tournament took place on Saturday at Game Point, Siddhi Vinayak Nagar, Hyderabad.
After some quality women doubles action the duo of Poorvi Singhand Vanshika Kapila triumphed over their competitors to be crowned the winners of the Hyderabad edition.
The pair of Poorvi Singh and Vanshika Kapila from the Olympus Academy defeated G Likhita and Maitreyi 21/14, 21/17 and will now move on the National Finals. As many as 35 teams participated in the Hyderabad qualifier.
With the growing popularity of the sport be it viewership (5th most viewed) or participation (2nd most played), the tournament aims to further boost and improve participation and popularity amongst aspiring women players, a press release said.
Red Bull Shuttle up Qualifiers started from October 19 and will go on till November 23 with the respective city winners moving to The National Finals of Red Bull Shuttle Up which will take place on December 8 in Hyderabad.
