Hyderabad: Telangana Congress on Wednesday lodged a case with the Lok Pal at Delhi office against Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao alleging that the later had been indulging in political corruption.
Telangana Congress spokesperson Koturi Manavata Roy, who filed the case, said the Lok Pal had received the petition and said that it was the first complaint against a Chief Minister.
Roy said the Chief Minister made monetary benefits to the Congress and Telugu Desam MLAs to defect from their respective parties. He said the Chief Minister misused his office. In the petition, Roy said the government regularised the land of MLA Puvvada Ajay Kumar who won on behalf of the Congress in 2014 and joined the TRS in 2016 during the previous Assembly period.
He said Ajay had applied for regularisation of government land occupied by him in 2014. However, the regularisation took place after he joined the TRS. The land was regularised by imposing a penalty of Rs 2 crore whereas the 10,800 sq yard land was worth of Rs 50 crore in the open market.
In the same way, the land occupied by Telugu Desam MLA Sandra Venkata Viraiah was also regularised after he joined the TRS for a paltry sum. The bills of contract work of Congress MLA K Upendar Reddy were sanctioned after he joined the TRS.
Roy said that they submitted proofs to the allegations they have made against the Chief Minister to the Lok Pal. He said that they urged the Lok Pal to protect democracy.
