Over 70,000 Indian exporters to participate in Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales: Amazon
Through Amazon's global sales program, these exporters will offer Made in India products to global customers.
Amazon said on Tuesday that more than 70,000 Indian exporters from its global sales program would participate in upcoming Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales on Amazon.com. These exporters will show millions of Made in India products to global customers and launch new products.
Indian vendors offer products that include gift options such as STEM toys, jewellery, teas and beverages, beauty products, leather diaries, bags, and more.
Some of the top Indian brands in Amazon's global sales program are Jackinthebox, jewellery brands such as Aheli and Jewel Zone, and SVA Organics, a manufacturer of essential oils.
Abhijit Kamra, Global Trade Director, Amazon India said: "Black Friday and Cyber Monday (BFCM) is an important time of year for Indian MSMEs at Amazon Global Selling as it marks the beginning of the global holiday season. . In the immediate aftermath of the festive season in India, it has traditionally been a key growth period for our sales partners, and with more and more people relying on e-commerce for products globally, we believe the 2020 BFCM sales period will help. to speed up the export business for our sellers. "
Amazon had launched the Global Selling program in 2015. The program had started with 100 exporters. The program enables these exporters to sell products in markets such as the United States, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, Mexico, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Turkey, Brazil, Japan, Australia and Singapore.
As per Amazon, the program reached accumulated exports amounting to one billion dollars in three years. It is expected to reach $ 2 billion in the next 18 months.
"The programme is rapidly boosting exports from India and helping build global Indian brands. In 2019, more than 800 Indian MSMEs on the program surpassed $131, 375 (INR 1 crore) in e-commerce exports sales," said Amazon.
With that said, the Black Friday sale takes place on the day immediately following Thanksgiving in the US, that is, November 27. Cyber Monday happen on the Monday after Thanksgiving.
