Jio will take away this cost by making the cloud infrastructure, free for startups.

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman, Reliance Industries Limited said that Reliance Jio would help startups by providing free internet services.

He said that Jio would take away the cost by making the cloud infrastructure bundled with connectivity free for budding startups.

"Jio is a startup built in India for India, and we have a special place in our hearts for startups. You may know 80% of the cost of running a startup goes towards cloud and connectivity infrastructure," Ambani said during his 42nd AGM speech.

So far, Jio has invested in 14 technology startups to build various solutions.

"I urge all startups to register for their custom-designed package on Jio.com and this service will be available from Jan 1, 2020. We will also financially invest and support those startups which have the potential to address India's big needs in agriculture, healthcare, education and skill development," he added.
