Huawei phones are still blocked from using GMS, and Huawei Mobile Services brings several apps.

Days after Huawei launched its suite of apps to replace Google Mobile Services (GMS), the Android maker is now trying to bring the Huawei back to its side. New reports claim that Google is in talks with the US administration, where it has requested to allow it to work again with the Huawei.

Information from DPA says that Android and Google Play vice-president Sameer Samat told that Google has applied to the US government to restart business dealings with the Chinese tech giant Huawei.

Though, Samat has not disclosed when they would decide on the issue. The report comes after the White House has permitted some US companies to apply for a license to do business with Huawei, with the likes of Microsoft even receiving a green light to restart business ties.

This means Huawei has restarted shipping Windows and other Microsoft services on its laptops. Now, as Google has applied for a license, the company will be allowed to deliver its Google Mobile Service suite to Huawei phones in future.

Even Huawei is optimistic of as its consumer group CEO Richard Yu has earlier said they would update the Mate 30 series instantly if they got the permission for providing Google services on their devices.

However, there is no clear hint of how long this process will take. It may take a few days to months. Finally, the decision may not end up in favour of Google and Huawei.

In the time being, Huawei phones are still blocked from using GMS. Instead, Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) brings several essential apps, that includes access to the Huawei App Gallery that serves to replace Google Play on newer Huawei phones.
