Hyderabad: The government would launch the 30-Day Special Action Plan in Gram Panchayats from Friday with a view to improve the conditions of rural areas with the participation of people, officials and public representatives.
The officials have completed all the necessary arrangements for launch of the programme. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has conducted an orientation programme for the officials of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development department and public representatives.
The District Collectors have held meetings with the officials of the PR and RD department and rural local body representatives. Mandal level officers have been appointed to oversee the implementation of the programme.
During the 30-Day Action Plan, seven days would be devoted to electricity related problems and one day for women issues. The action plan would focus particularly on cleanliness and greenery.
As per the programme finalised by the government, on first day Gram Sabhas would be conducted in all the Gram Panchayats. The sarpanch and panchayat secretaries would read out the message of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao which contains the importance of the programme and its details.
The Chief Minister's message reads as, "the government has formed rural policy with a view to see that villages of Telangana turn into models for the country.
The villages should flourish with cleanliness and greenery. The development must take place in a planned manner. The Panchayat Raj Act has been brought to bring a qualitative change in the rural areas.
The government has provided the required powers and funds to the Gram Panchayats. The Action Plan would begin from September 6. The responsibility to make it a success lies on the people.
People should participate voluntarily in the programme and develop their villages. I humbly request that people should move to bring changes in villages with the help of the government.
After 30-Day Action Plan, there should be a change. I hope you all will work with commitment and turn your villages into ideal ones."
