5 meal rolled out in Bhongir

Yadadri-Bhongir: Bhongir MLA P Shekar Reddy stated that they were happy to provide Rs 5 lunch to the poor under Annapurna scheme. On Friday, along with District Collector Anita Ramachandran and MLC Alimineti Krishna Reddy, the MLA inaugurated Rs 5 meal canteen, run jointly by Bhongir municipality and Akshaya Patra Foundation at Jagadevpur centre in Bhongir.
Speaking on the occasion, he said providing lunch at Rs 5 to poor is laudable. Further, he added that local municipality was bearing Rs 19.25 per meal in the scheme in the interest of people.
Collector Anita Ramchandran felt that Rs 5 meal is very useful to those poor who come to Bhongir town for daily labor works. All the guests had lunch in the canteen and tested the quality.
In this programme, Bhongir municipal chairman Nuvulla Srinivas, in-charge commissioner Pattabhi, vice-chairperson B Mahalaxmi, District Library chairman Jadala Amarender and TRS party local leaders and citizens participated.
