50 bags of ganja seized, four held in Bhadrachalam

Bhadrachalam: Nearly 50 bags of ganja sealed in packets was seized by the town police, informed Bhadrachalam Circle Inspector P Satyanarayana Reddy.

Addressing the media here on Tuesday, the CI said as part of regular vehicle check at town roads, the police personnel found four persons, including a woman, moving suspiciously near Kunavaram road.

The police took them into custody and questioned them, during which the accused revealed about the ganja bags they were carrying. The arrested belong to Odisha and were heading to Hyderabad to sell the ganja to prospective buyers.

The worth of the seized ganja is said to be Rs 6 lakh. The police registered a case against the arrested persons. Further probe is underway.
