6-year-old succumbs to dengue fever in Hyderabad

A six-year-old girl succumbed to dengue fever on Thursday here at Niloufer hospital in Hyderabad.

Divya, a daughter of Anjaiah and Padma was admitted to a hospital in her native place Amanagallu with a high fever. The doctors who confirmed it as dengue shifted her to Niloufer hospital in Hyderabad where she died while undergoing treatment.

On October 31, four of a family died due to dengue in Mancherial within a span of 15 days. Gudimalla Rajagattu, a 30-year-old teacher died of dengue first on October 16.

Four days after the death of Rajagattu, his 70-year-old grandfather Lingaiah succumbed to dengue fever on October 20. A week after his death, Rajagattu's six-year-old daughter died due to dengue on October 27.

On October 29, Rajagattu's pregnant wife got admitted to the hospital with dengue and succumbed to the fever after delivering a baby boy.
