9 wooden shops gutted in fire accident in Khammam
As many as nine wood furniture shops were gutted in a fire accident that occurred due to electric short circuit at Srinivasa Nagar in Khammam town on Saturday.
Khammam: As many as nine wood furniture shops were gutted in a fire accident that occurred due to electric short circuit at Srinivasa Nagar in Khammam town on Saturday.
The victims said that they have incurred a loss of about Rs 1.10 crore. Two fire fighting vehicles controlled the flames from spreading to other shops and doused them.
Fire officer Ch Rajaiah said that they got a phone call from a person, who said shops were burning at Srinivasa Nagar. Immediately after receiving the phone call, the fire fighters rushed to the spot within minutes along with fire fighting vehicles and controlled flames. He said that they found out that the flames started from shop no 3 due to electric short circuit. Total nine shops completely gutted in the incident as flames spread fast due to wood furniture.
Victims lamented that they lost everything. The burned shops include doors and windows manufacturing shops, designing shops etc.
