Accord top priority to punctuality of trains: SCR GM

Hyderabad: South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Gajanan Mallya held a review meeting on according top priority to punctuality and safety in train operations at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad on Tuesday along with Principal Heads of Departments. The Divisional Railway Manager's (DRMs) of all six Divisions i.e.. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded attended the meeting through video conference.

Gajanan Mallya emphasized on the punctuality related issues and directed the staff to be alert and cautious for maintaining the punctuality in running of train services. He reviewed the safety aspects of the entire Zone and instructed the officials to take up the special drives against the fire incidents and unusual occurrences. He cautioned the staff to avoid short cut methods in train operations. He instructed the Divisional Railway Managers to conduct regular safety counselling classes to yard staff, track staff and signal maintenance staff.

The General Manager also reviewed on the position of freight loading activity over the Zone. The officials briefed on Anaconda Jumbo Freight Trains and its feasibility of running in South Central Railway to improve the mobility and loading capacity. All the DRM's briefed the General Manager regarding on-going infrastructural works, station redevelopment works and passenger amenities.

Additional General Manager John Thomas and other senior officials were present in the review meeting.
