Adilabad: The increasing Covid-19 and dengue cases are making the people panic in Adilabad district.

Recently a pregnant woman of Agency area was tested corona positive. The woman of Utnoor went to RIMS hospital for delivery. Since she was anaemic, doctors did blood transfusion. Her relatives took her to a maternity hospital in Hyderabad, where she delivered a baby girl on June 11 and the baby died soon after birth. She was rushed to Osmania hospital, who was in critical condition and

was diagnosed with corona positive after conducting Covid-19 tests on Monday (June 15). Now she is undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital.

Earlier nine migrant labourers, who went to other regions in search of livelihood and diagnosed as corona positive, had recovered recently. Meanwhile, with the advent of monsoon more than 20 dengue cases were registered so far in the district. Last year, about 470 dengue cases were registered in the district. Due to lack of cleanliness in towns and villages, delay in providing treatment to patients, dengue cases have been increasing in the district.

Speaking to The Hans India, District Medical and Health Officer Narender Rathod informed that so far almost all corona positive cases have been recovered and returned. Now only a pregnant woman from the district is under treatment at Gandhi Hospital. He requested the people to follow three rules – minimum three feet social distancing, frequent sanitisation and wearing mask – to protect themselves from getting infected with deadly coronavirus.
