All candidates confident of victory
Soon after the completion of the first phase of Lok Sabha elections for the Nagarkurnool and Mahbubnagar seats, almost all the contesting candidates expressed their confidence of winning the elections that were held across the State on Thursday.
Mahbubnagar: Soon after the completion of the first phase of Lok Sabha elections for the Nagarkurnool and Mahbubnagar seats, almost all the contesting candidates expressed their confidence of winning the elections that were held across the State on Thursday.
TRS candidate Manne Srinivas Reddy, BJP's DK Aruna, and Congress' Vamshi Chand Reddy all expressed hope of winning the MP seat from Mahbubnagar. "With people witnessing a Modi wave across India, I am sure I will win the election with a thumping majority, let's wait and see until the results are out," observed DK Aruna, while giving her comments on the elections.
However, the political analysts have been expressing a mixed response and could not come to a clear cut conclusion as to who will get an edge in the Mahbubnagar MP elections. It is said that in some areas of Mahbubnagar, Gadwal, Wanaparthy and Narayanpet, the BJP has taken a lead in getting support of voters particularly from the urban areas, while it is said that voters from rural areas either voted for TRS or the Congress party candidates. "I feel there is a tough fight between the BJP and TRS candidate. In Mahbubnagar headquarters the BJP party may have had its upper hand, while the minorities may have split into two either to vote for Congress or TRS contestants," observed Nagesh, a local political analysts from Mahbubnagar.
In Nagarkurnool district, a TRS waive is said to have swept as the TRS MLAs from Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Achampet and Kollapur have equivocally campaigned neck to neck for the TRS MP candidate P. Ramulu.
Moreover Ramulu being a local candidate known among the local Nagarkurnool people in Achampet and Kalwakurthy, got the local support is quite easy. While for the congress candidate Mallu Ravi, these elections may once again prove him to be unlucky. The BJP's Bangaru Shruti, who is also a new entrant for the Nagarkurnool voters may, has also not cut many votes for her from the public.
Overall in the erstwhile Mahbubnagar, it looks these elections have had a close fight between BJP and TRS parties' contestants and one may not be surprised if BJP may win the Mahbubnagar MP seat while the TRS may get the Nagarkurnool seat and Congress may draw blank in both the constituencies, as predicted by the election pundits from erstwhile Mahbubnagar.
