Takes a jibe at TRS leaders for spreading false propaganda over stoppage of financial aid to flood victims

Hyderabad: Irked over Chief Minister and Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) chief K Chandrashekar Rao's passing the blame of stopping Rs 10,000 financial aid to the victims of recent floods in Hyderabad, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has embarked on a war of words against the ruling party leaders.

BJP State unit president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Thursday, retorting to Chandrashekar Rao's remarks, said, "Pinkies (TRS cadre) are monkeys and they are trying to spread false propaganda armed with a fake letter to mislead people that the BJP had stalled the disbursal of financial assistance to the flood victims." Sanjay Kumar demanded that the State government make public the division-wise beneficiaries' list of flood-affected people who received financial assistance.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP national vice president D K Aruna said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had been spending sleepless nights due to the rise of BJP in the State. She said the TRS chief did not expect the phenomenal rise of BJP right in front of his eye. She reminded the TRS chief of how he had earlier showered praises on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and now trying to make intemperate remarks in the wake of GHMC elections.

She claimed that the financial package of Rs 550 crore announced by the Chief Minister for flood victims was provided by the Centre. However, instead of depositing the relief into the beneficiaries account, why had the TRS sent his cadre to distribute the funds, she asked.

She said the Chief Minister had developed cold feet when people started revolting for not paying the assistance and asked them to apply through Mee Seva to fool the people.

She alleged that the TRS government used the State Election Commission (SEC) to stall the disbursal of financial assistance. Aruna has also asked as to who asked the issuance of election notification. The State government might have sought for the issue of election notification after completing the disbursal of financial assistance, she said.
