All set for municipal elections: Telangana govt to court

Hyderabad: The government of Telangana on Friday filed a counter-petition in High Court saying that the state is all set for municipal elections.

The plea also stated that the government has resolved all the issues in municipalities in which the High Court had stayed elections. The election commission also has to file a counter-petition stating that it is ready to hold the elections in the state. The court adjourned the case to August 13, 2019.

Earlier, the government told the High Court that it will hold elections 69 municipalities of the total 139 due to the discrepancies in the voter list and delimitation of wards.
