Speaking on the occasion, Anganwadi Teachers and Workers Union leader G Padma demanded the government to release office rent bills immediately that have been pending for the last 19 months. She also urged the government to provide the necessary stationery in Anganwadis.

Stating that the government was not releasing the enhanced salaries to workers, Padma appealed to the government to solve their issues immediately and release the pending bills and salaries.

Leaders of CITU union Venkatamma, Shanati, CITU district president AJ Ramesh, secretary Brahmachary and others extended their support to the agitators. Later, the leaders and workers submitted a memorandum to the Collector, who had promised them of necessary action.
