As Covid 19 rages, Telangana sees sharp spike with 352 cases in single day

Hyderabad: A total of 352 Covid-19 positive cases and three fatalities were reported in Telangana on Thursday.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation contributed with 302 positive cases.

With this the total tally has crossed 6000 cases in Telangana. Three deaths were reported on Thursday taking the tally to 195 deaths. So far active cases in hospitals are 2,531. Barring the districts near Hyderabad, the cases in other districts were limited to single digits. The districts near Hyderabad like Medchal had 10 positive cases and Rangareddy district 17 cases.

The State government did not reveal the number of tests it has carried out on Thursday. A day before the government had declared that it took up tests to about 1,000 people.

An IAS officer working in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation was reportedly tested for corona positive on Thursday. This is probably the first IAS officer who was tested positive after the outbreak of the pandemic in Telangana.

According to sources, another official working in town planning section of Circle V of the GHMC in LB Nagar was also tested positive. The section officer GHMC also tested positive.

The news about a section officer getting positive for Corona created fear among the other employees working in the section.
