Barbaric act: People hang monkey to death in Telangana's Khammam
Irked over monkey's presence in the village, people hang it to death in Khammam district of Telangana
In an inhumane act, villagers of Ammapalem of Khammam district in Telangana hanged a monkey from a tree after it entered the village. The incident occurred a few days ago but came to light after a video of it went viral on social media.
It is learned that the villagers were fumed after a troop of monkeys entered their village in search of food. However, a few men from the village were irked with the presence of monkeys and decided to teach them a lesson. One of the accused caught hold of a monkey that fell in the water and thought of hanging it to death so that other monkeys would never enter their village fearing of death.
#Heartbreaking: These visuals may annoy you. This incident proves again that we are (humans) very dangerous and cruel than all on the planet. A man at #Vensupalam village, #khammam in #Telangana, brutally killed a monkey. Hours after being tortured, the monkey leaves its breath. pic.twitter.com/E3YM7YDj4s

They hanged the monkey from a tree in the presence of the villagers who were seen cheering in the video while the animal is struggling for life.
After the villagers' barbaric act went viral on the social media platforms, the forest officials inquired about the incident and arrested three persons in connection with the case. An investigation has been launched.
Brutality against the animals is being continued unabated in the country. In the last month, a pregnant elephant was fed with a cracker stuffed coconut by a few men in Kerala which blasted in the elephant's mouth injuring her jaw. However, the elephant succumbed to the injuries a few days after the incident.
