Bathukamma sarees reaches district
Sarees for Bathukamma festival, which is just a few days away, had reached Kamareddy district and were stored in warehouse under strict supervision.

Bathukamma sarees were not distributed last year due to election code during Assembly elections. After separate Telangana State was formed, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had started the ritual of distributing sarees to Hindu women on Bathukamma festival and this is for the third time.
Bathukamma festival is on October 6 and as many as 3.19 lakh sarees will be distributed in the district this year. In the first phase, 1,32,140 sarees were dispatched to the district and the remaining will reach the district soon. These sarees will be distributed to respective zones. Saree distribution has increased the livelihood of weavers.
