Karimnagar: State Election Officer (SEC) V Nagi Reddy ordered the officials concerned to allot symbols to the contestants carefully without committing mistakes, during at video conference with the Collectors and Municipal Commissioners of all districts from Hyderabad on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Nagi Reddy directed the officials to take perfect steps in allotting symbols to the candidates contesting in the municipal elections and to print ballot papers as per the Telugu alphabets. "Check the ballot papers design properly before giving it for printing and publish the list of voters as per polling stations after checking the list twice. Conduct the second phase of training for the polling staff and confirm the attendance of the polling staff and counting staff by January 20," he stated.
The SEO also ordered the officials to appoint flying squads, video teams along with MCC teams for checking the code of conduct during elections along with establishing election distribution, reception and counting centres.
The officials were told to arrange webcasting in the high-risk polling stations and submit the reports of election process and counting process up to date and from time-to-time. They were also told to take all necessary steps along with providing arrangements for the smooth conduct of elections. As the polling percentage in urban areas is taking place very less, the SEC told them to take necessary steps to create awareness among the people to utilise their voting right without fail.
District Collector K Shashanka, DRO Praveenya, ZP CEP Venkat Madhava Rao, Municipal Commissioner Venugopal Reddy, DRDO Vekateshwar Rao, Mepma PD Pavan Kumar and RDO Anand Kumar were present along with others.
