Hyderabad: Leader of Congress in Assembly Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday demanded the Centre to order for CBI inquiry into the Mission Bhagiratha project.

Addressing the media, he said that the project was a big scam in the country. He said that all the schemes of the TRS government were scams and they have been designed only to loot the public money.

Expressing surprise over the complements of Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekawat to the project, he said whether the scam of Mission Bhagiratha would be spread all over the country by BJP government at the Centre.

While the BJP State unit has alleged swindling of money in the project, the Union Minister was in all praise for it. This exposes the double standards of the BJP, he added.

Vikramarka said that bidders have distributed tenders of MB among themselves in one office when the project was grounded. The detailed project report was not made public so far.

He alleged that the old water supply schemes have been closed for the MB project and thousands of crores of rupees being spent on them were wasted. The filter beds in Khammam district worth Rs 1,000 crore have been closed down.

Vikramarka came down heavily on the government for its failure to give protection to Revenue officials. He said that the Tahsildars have been demanding security, a most bizarre situation ever took place in the country.

He said though tahsildar Vijaya Reddy was brutally murdered in her office, the Chief Minister has no time to make a review on the incident. The Chief Minister had the time to make a presentation to the Union Minister on MB project but not to address the issues of the Revenue officials.
