Hyderabad: Telangana BJP on Sunday welcomed the decision of Election Commission of India (ECI) removing the national party status to the Communist parties.

Terming as long overdue, BJP State chief spokesperson Krishna Saagar Rao said, given the rules and regulations, the Left parties had performed so poorly in the last elections that their vote share has dipped so low making them lose the national party status.

He said "with an exception being in government in Kerala, the Communist parties had been left with some presence in West Bengal and Tripura.

Adding, it is the time the Communist parties reflected on what they had achieved in over 100 years of their presence in India. Also, how did they add any value with their presence, he asked.

He said that people in the country are increasingly realising that the Communist parties have no concern for the people, national integrity, national security and sovereignty. Their stands and positions are always anti-India.

Krishna Saaga Rao wondered as to what the Communist parties are doing in India. Because the communist ideology is completely based on a single party system, the multi-party and Parliamentary democratic system is not acceptable ot it.

There is only a single-party system in the seven Communist-ruled countries in the world. This is making people to ask the relevance of the Communist parties in a multi-party democratic system like India.

"We are in a massive course of transformation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

People of India started realising which political party's ideologies, their stands and positions are relevant to India. They are protecting it and it is BJP."
