Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State unit chief spokesperson Krishna Saagar Rao questioned the rationale of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for directing the officials to vacate the secretariat within 72 hours.

In a statement here on Friday, he said arguments on the issue of demolition of secretariat buildings are going on before the courts and the issue is sub judice.

Yet, it seems the Chief Minister is hastening the process to demolish the buildings as any adverse order to stop the demolitions might blur his image.

It was against this backdrop that the Chief Minister seems to have taken a decision giving a mere 72 hours for the officials to leave their present offices.

"We fail to understand why the Chief Minister is in such a hurry," he questioned.

Demanding an answer, he said the Chief Minister has no time to attend the issues related to the farmers, students and peoples' issues, then, why is he in such a hurry to demolish the buildings.

The BJP wanted the TRS chief to answer whether he is not bothered about the administration, peoples' problems, transparently taking decisions, he said.

He said irrespective of its need, the Chief Minister wanted to waste public money by constructing a new secretariat to remain in the pages of history.

For this, the existing building for which repairs have been carried out recently are going to be demolished. The party will strongly oppose it, he added.
