Nizamabad: CITU leader Mallya Govardhan accused the Central government and corporate organisations of exploiting the workers. On Wednesday, the city auto union and CITU leaders staged a protest in front of the bus stand and burnt the effigy of the Central government.

Govardhan said the BJP government had come to power at the centre for the second time and is taking decisions that would benefit corporate entities only.

Alleging that the Central government's decision of Rs 178 per day as the national minimum wage is unfair and injustice to the workers, he demanded the minimum wage should be Rs 18,000 per month or Rs 24,000 per month as per ILO guidelines.

The road transport bill was created to privatise the transport sector, Govardhan added.
