Centre of excellence for cybersecurity opens in Kukatpally
The CCoE has been set up with the objective to drive the cybersecurity ecosystem which includes corporate, banks and financial institutions and general public about the rising threats of cybercrime and the need for cybersecurity
Kukatpally: A state-of-the-art Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence (CCoE), a joint initiative of the Government of Telangana and Data Security Council of India (DSCI), was inaugurated here on Tuesday.
The new 6,000 sq ft facility will serve as the epicentre of cyber security development in the State.
The CCoE has been set up with the objective to drive the cybersecurity ecosystem which includes corporate, banks and financial institutions and general public about the rising threats of cybercrime and the need for cybersecurity.
The centre is equipped with an incubation centre for startups, an experience zone, and a training centre with an aim at providing conducive cybersecurity ecosystem in the city.
The centre will have a training room to conduct knowledge and training sessions on cybersecurity for the industry, government departments, academia and R&D centres and other user groups. The facility is also equipped with a 30-seater incubation zone.
Cybersecurity to be must in JNTU colleges
Cybersecurity is fundamental to every business and would be a mandatory module in colleges affiliated with JNTU from the next academic year, said Jayesh Ranjan, Prinpical Secretary of IT Telangana, at the inaugural ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Rama Vedashree, Chief Executive officer, DSCI, says, "We are extremely glad to open a CCoE in Hyderabad. We are grateful to collaborate with multiple stakeholders such as the industry and educational institutions to uplift the cybersecurity ecosystem.
Dr Sriram Birudavolu, CEO, Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (CCoE), DSCI, says, "We aim at building awareness of various cyber threats and research measures to overcome them. The practices of the CCoE will be focussed on holistic collaboration with all sectors to help deliver customised trainings and solutions."
