With Congress MLA D Sudheer Reddy deciding to join TRS, the Congress leaders, especially Revanth Reddy who is fielded from Malkajgiri segment, are in a state of quandary

LB Nagar: Political equations in the LB Nagar assembly constituency are fast changing in favour of the ruling party.

Devireddy Sudheer Reddy's recent decision to quit Congress and join TRS party has jolted the Congress party.

It becomes even more interesting as Revanth Reddy has been fielded as the Congress party candidate for Malkajgiri Parliament constituency.

LB Nagar assembly segment is in the Malkajgiri constituency.

It is learnt that Sudheer Reddy has convinced his followers and Congress party workers that joining TRS party would help him in developing the constituency.

Going by the recent developments, it appears that Congress party may lose its strength in the constituency and this may have severe impact on its prospects in Malkajgiri Parliament seat.

In the recently held assembly elections, there was keen tussle between the ruling TRS party and Congress party.

According to political analysts, the constituency may become a stronghold of TRS party as Sudheer Reddy and his followers shift loyalties to TRS party.

It appears that TRS party may cruise towards victory in Malkajgiri constituency given the political situation.

In recent Assembly elections, Sudheer Reddy won over Muddagouni Rammohan Goud with a margin of 17,000 votes.

While Congress received 1.25 lakh votes, TRS got 96,000 votes.

LB Nagar has 11 municipal divisions and all the divisions are represented by TRS corporators.

Sudheer Reddy is expected to bring key local Congress leaders with him into TRS party, which would further strengthen the party.

While most of the Congress activists are getting ready to leave the party, there are chances that Congress party would be emptied in the constituency.

TDP is also facing similar crisis as Sama Ranga Reddy who was responsible for strengthening the party in the constituency has been inactive as he was not given the party ticket from the constituency but was shifted to Ibrahimpatnam constituency, from where he lost the elections.

BJP too has secured only 21,000 thousand votes in the recent Assembly elections and its cadre has not even started its preparation for Parliament elections so far.

In view of Congress party's announcement fielding Revanth Reddy from Malkajgiri constituency, who takes the mantle of campaigning in the constituency for Congress has become a topic of discussion here in LB Nagar.
