Charminar: On the second day of Lockdown in City, while most of the connecting roads were barricaded by the police it was observed that a group of minors were stationed near a police picket volunteering and asking people to return where they had come. They did not allow commuters to pass through.

Not far away from Bhavani Nagar Police Station, the road in Talabkatta near Royal Bawarchi was barricaded, and a group of minors holding lathis were seen volunteering and asking people to not to violate norms. These boys were seen stopping the commuters and asking them to return back.

This Hans India reporter who was passing through the streets of Talabkatta enquired with one of the boys who entrusted the task to them. They said that the police deployed them for volunteering the picket and, "asked us not to allow any commuter passing from the road." They said they had been doing this since morning and not allowing anyone to pass the road. When asked name, one replied "naam kaiku bolna tumaku" (why should I tell you my name) and went away.

When contacted, Bhavani Nagar Inspector, N Venkateshwarlu said that the police officer had deployed a group of youngsters as a volunteer in area. "But after you informed about this development and informed that they were minors and using lathis, which is not allowed, they have been now removed and an officer has been deployed at the point," he added.
