Hyderabad: The diplomatic, friendly and cordial relationship adopted by the Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao with the Karnataka Government to overcome the drinking water problem of people of erstwhile Mahabubnagar District yielded fruitful results.

To fulfill the drinking water needs of Mahabubnagar District people, the Karnataka Government has decided to release two and half TMC water from Narayanpur reservoir to Jurala. In view of the water levels steeply coming down in the reservoirs of Mahabubnagar District, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao requested Karnataka Chief Minister Kumaraswamy for release of water. On the request of CM KCR, the Karnataka CM after discussing with the officials decided to release water to Mahabubnagar District.

Kumaraswamy personally telephoned Chandrashekhar Rao and informed about this. KCR has described the move as happy and good news to the Mahabubnagar people. On behalf of people of Mahabubnagar District, CM KCR conveyed his thanks to CM Kumaraswamy. Both the CMs have expressed their desire that the cordial and friendly relationship between the two states should continue forever. Water supply to Jurala will commence from this evening.
